Civil Service Commission Information

2007 REPORT OF ACTIVITIES FORM

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 124.40, each municipal civil service commission is required to submit a yearly report of its activiites to the State Personnel Board of Review. If you have not already submitted your 2007 Report of Activities, please print and complete the form and return it along with your annual report and a copy of your commission's civil service rules, to the State Personnel Board of Review, 65 East State Street, 12th Floor, Columbus, OH 43215. If you have any questions regarding annual filing requirements, please contact Diana Mills or Elaine Stevenson at 614/466-7046.

GUIDELINES FOR CONDUCTING EMPLOYEE HEARINGS

SPBR's resource manual, 'Guidelines for Conducting Employee Hearings,' was designed to provide civil service commissioners and city law directors with assistance in conducting hearings and applying Ohio civil service law to specific employee situations. The manual covers the hearing process from the initial receipt of an employee's appeal through possible appeal of a CSC's decision to a reviewing court. It includes sections dealing with jurisdiction, practices and procedures, disciplinary and non-disciplinary hearings, and judicial review under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 2506., as well as quick reference lists, selected sections of the Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code, and a reference copy of a Revised Code Section 124.34 Order.
